What people ask before booking.

Is LASIK painful?

Numbing drops are used, so most people feel pressure rather than pain during the procedure. Some have mild discomfort, dryness or light sensitivity afterwards. Your surgeon will explain what to expect.

How long does it take?

The procedure itself is usually short. Your surgeon will tell you the time to plan for on the day, and when you can return to work and daily activities.

What are the risks?

Like any surgery, LASIK has risks. These can include dry eyes, glare or halos at night, under- or over-correction, and rarely, more serious complications. Your surgeon will discuss the risks that apply to you before you decide.

Who should not have LASIK?

People whose prescription is still changing, or who have thin or irregular corneas, certain eye or general health conditions, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding, may be advised against it or asked to wait. An exam is needed to know.

Will I be free of glasses for life?

Results vary. Many people reach much less dependence on glasses, but your eyes can change with age, and some people still need glasses for some tasks. We will not promise an outcome.
